My hotel is exceptionally nice. Its called Le Diwan Sofitel. It's about a 10 minute walk from the embassy, and everyone here is very nice. Well, at least I think so. They are all speaking French. So beyond the basics: good morning, good evening, thank you, how are you, good night... it's hard to tell what they might be saying.
When I first arrived, and realized I needed a special adapter for my computer, my family encouraged me to ask at the front desk. I visited the clerk and began with a simple question - may I receive mail at the hotel? It took nearly a full five minutes to settle the mail question - with the language barrier hampering the process. I decided not to even get into explaining what type of adapter I would need. :-) Thankfully, my colleague at the embassy had the necessary adapter and is allowing me to borrow it. So... I've got a few more weeks to work on my French.
Here are photos of my room - wonderfully comfortable and clean! And my small patio area...

Your room looks nice =)
