Today is our last day in Spain, and the rain returned to see us off. We began our day at the huge breakfast buffet here at our hotel. We had arranged for breakfast to be included with all of our hotels - and we are very grateful, because they have all been wonderful. Well, we realized we have already paid for Friday's breakfast, but because we have to leave for the airport tomorrow at 4:45 a.m., we will miss it. Hence, we decided to eat two days worth this morning!! We were in no hurry, so we sat and ate, had coffee, relaxed, went back for seconds, and then more coffee. :-) We're on vacation....

Then we walked out the front door of our hotel and stopped cold. Time for a brief evaluation - do we really want yet another day of walking in the rain? No. So, we turned around and went back to our room... we read and napped until early afternoon. It was awesome!

This afternoon we hailed a cab and headed back to the city's center. We had paid for a bus tour of the city - but were reluctant to go because it was an open-top double decker bus. We did anyway, and sat below. The windows were foggy and rain-covered, so it was basically pointless. We did meet a nice young couple from New Hampshire who were also here for a week's vacation - they stayed in cities in southern Spain, and had experienced sunny weather the whole time except for today.

We spent the rest of the day shopping in the rain, and looking for somewhere to eat an early dinner. We already knew that most places don't open for dinner until 9:00 pm, so pickings were slim. We found a dirty, smokey, noisy cafe with very rude staff and had a greasy meal. Not good. That was not the last impression of Spain that we wanted to take with us - so we sacrificed and headed to a wonderful pastry shop down the street. Not only did we get great sweets, we also met a sweet elderly lady.

Now we are packing up and hoping to get to sleep early. We'll be up before dawn to start the journey home! Flying from Seville to Madrid, then on to Chicago, and finally Indy.
